Hannah Farrell
President
Hannah Is a UBC Biology graduate who grew up container gardening more tropical plants in Hong Kong. She was taught to garden by her mother and grandfather and loves getting her hands in the earth. She is really excited to garden as part of a community.

Jeff Greenman
Vice-President
Jeff is a professor and academic administrator by day, and an eager amateur gardener on weekends. He has an interest in how growing and sharing food can shape and sustain neighbourhoods and communities, and is excited at the opportunity this garden presents.

Krithika Venkatachalam
Treasurer
Krithika is a Psychology graduate who has a passion for the community. She especially enjoys growing herbs and edible plants.

Karen Truscott
Communication, Education & Events
Karen is a lawyer, mediator and facilitator. Her gardening roots extend back to family places in Alberta and Saskatchewan. She shares the vision of creating a nurturing space and place of connection for our community.

Cynthia
Secretary
Cynthia is a recent BSc graduate in Microbiology and Immunology from the University of British Columbia. She enjoys tending to her indoor plant garden, and is looking forward to being able to garden outdoors with other members of the community!

Louise Griep
Membership & Admin
Louise has always loved gardening, which was no longer available to her when she moved to an apartment. She thinks it is a wonderful opportunity to work with neighbours to set up and then participate in a community garden.

John
Garden Committee
John loves all the processes that are involved in gardening. Researching the best plants, learning new techniques such as growing micro greens, and best of all discussing and receiving feedback and new ideas from fellow gardeners.

Lin-P'ing
Garden Committee & Watering Co-ordinator
Lin-P’ing is a scientist by training and loves experimenting with new plants/varieties in her garden plot. She moved to Vancouver in the midst of the pandemic, and is grateful for our garden initiative that has connected her with a great community of people in her new home.

Iris
Garden Committee & Herb Plot Manager
Iris is a seasoned multicultural marketing strategist and avid reader. She believes reading books is the most intimate form of communication with interesting souls, alive, or in another time-and-space continuum. As an amateur gardener, she is discovering “a garden is a place full of random, diverting, and irrelevant happenings”, and hopes to enhance the environment of intriguing connections.

Behrad "Bob" Nassiri
Garden Committee
Behrad "Bob" Nassiri , has a background in design and manufacturing of Artistic indoor planters. As a kid, his playground was the family garden, filled with wildflowers, veggies, and fruit trees. Today, he combines that passion with design and community of plant lovers to bring joy to gardening and plant care.

Garden Committee
May is a staff member at UBC who grew up in Beijing, China. Since moving to Canada she has grown a love of gardening. May is very excited to share her planting experience and foods with family and friends.
